Two weeks after the teaser , Paramount+ released the trailer for 1923 , the Yellowstone prequel series starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford . You can see it below…
The cast
The debut of the series is scheduled for December 18 in the USA and Canada, while in Italy it will arrive in 2023. In the cast we will also find Timothy Dalton, James Badge Dale ( Hightown ), Darren Mann ( Animal Kingdom ) and Marley Shelton ( Scream ). Also joining them are Michelle Randolph ( The Resort ), Brian Geraghty ( Big Sky ), Aminah Nieves ( V/H/S/99 ) and Julia Schlaepfer ( The Politician ). With them also Sebastian Roché and Robert Patrick, recently seen in the series Peacemaker , who will play Sheriff William McDowell, a close friend of the Dutton family. Jerome Flynn , face of Bronn in Game of Thrones , will play Banner Creighton, a particularly stubborn Scotsman, leader of the local shepherds.
Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren will play Jacob and Cara Dutton, ancestors of Yellowstone’s lead family. James Badge Dale will play John Dutton Sr., Jacob’s eldest nephew and right-hand man. Darren Mann will play Jack Dutton, son of John Sr. and great-grandson of Jacob, a hardworking ranchero with strong loyalty to the family. Marley Shelton will play Emma Dutton, wife of John Sr. and mother of Jack.
Michelle Randolph will play Elizabeth Strafford, a feisty and capable woman who will marry a member of the Dutton family. Brian Geraghty will play Zane, the ranch’s loyal foreman. Aminah Nieves will play Teonna Rainwater, a young woman who resides in a government college. Finally, Julia Schlaepfer will play Alexandra, a British woman who knows one of the Duttons abroad.
A new generation of Duttons
1923 will usher in a new generation of Duttons and usher in the early 20th Century, as pandemics, droughts, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression hit hard in the Western mountain areas that the Duttons call home. Like Yellowstone , 1923 is created by Taylor Sheridan .
