After revealing that Adam Driver was in talks to play Reed Richards in Fantastic Four , My Time To Shine Hello says the deal has now been finalized.
We don’t have any other details, and we’ll have to wait for the news to be released by the major trade publications (Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety) to be more certain. It must be said, however, that My Time To Shine Hello has always been a reliable source, and its scoops are often confirmed by facts.
It’s done. Adam Driver is our Reed Richards.

If true, it would be a coup for Marvel Studios . Not only is Adam Driver a great actor, but he’s gifted at embodying both the nerdy side of Mr. Fantastic and the more action-oriented side. We recently saw Driver in Noah Baumbach’s sci-fi 65 and White Noise , and he will soon be seen in Michael Mann’s Ferrari and Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis .
It will be interesting to find out who gets cast for the other family members. Rumor has it that the role of Susan Storm / Invisible Woman has been offered to Margot Robbie , and that that of Johnny Storm / Human Torch has been offered to Paul Mescal . For Galactus , however, the name of Antonio Banderas circulates .
Be that as it may, for an official announcement from Marvel we will probably have to wait for the next Comic-Con in San Diego, or some other big event. We’ll see. The American release is scheduled for February 14, 2025 .
Fantastic Four was in the hands of Jon Watts , but the director of Spider-Man: Homecoming and its sequels has decided to give up to take a break from superhero films. Matt Shakman – the same as WandaVision – seemed the ideal replacement in the eyes of Kevin Feige , who already trusts him, and therefore will entrust him with the production without having to supervise it personally (as he did with Sam Raimi for Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness ).
Marvel Studios has hired Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer to write the script. Their filmography is not very rich, consisting only of Bert and Arnie’s Guide to Friendship and The Last of the Great Romantics . However, the two are considered one of the most popular writing teams of the moment: last year they sold several spec scripts (screenplays written on their own initiative, not commissioned by any studio), including the comedy Disaster Wedding . Another script of theirs to be made is K-Pop: Lost in America .
The new draft was entrusted to Josh Friedman , best known for War of the Worlds, Black Dahlia, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Emerald City, Fondazone and the future Avatar 4 .
Still no official news regarding the cast. John Krasinski played a variant of Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , but we know that sometimes the variants look different than those of Earth-616. Furthermore, Krasinski ‘s casting seemed like a one-off solution from the beginning , to wink at the campaigns of fans (who had wanted him in the role of Richards for years ). For Mr. Fantastic circulates the name of Adam Driver , for the Human Torch that of Paul Mescal .
