The sequel to Mortal Kombat is in the middle of the casting phase: The Hollywood Reporter reports that, after Karl Urban ( Johnny Cage ) and Tati Gabrielle ( Jade ), Adeline Rudolph will also be in the film .
The Hong Kong actress will play Kitana , one of the most beloved characters of the saga, introduced in the second chapter. Daughter of the rulers of Edenia , the girl is adopted by Shao Khan when Outworld invades his kingdom, and becomes a great warrior. Later, however, she allies with the defenders of the Earth, thus rebelling against her ruthless adoptive father. Mileena , played in the first film by Sisi Stringer , is actually a clone created in the video games to keep tabs on her. Kitana is also known for her signature weapons: a pair of razor-sharp fans.
Adeline Rudolph first made her name with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina , but she also appeared in various episodes of Riverdale and Resident Evil: The Series . Also, we will soon see her in Hellboy: The Crooked Man .
She and Tati Gabrielle previously worked together on Sabrina , where they played two-thirds of the “Sinister Sisters.” Their characters will have a very close bond in Mortal Kombat 2 as well , as Kitana and Jade are childhood friends.
As we know, director Simon McQuoid will also return for this sequel, while the script has been entrusted to Jeremy Slater , showrunner of The Umbrella Academy and head writer of Moon Knight . We will keep you posted.

In the cast of the first chapter include Lewis Tan ( Cole Young ), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Josh Lawson (Kano) , Joe Taslim (Sub-Zero), Mehcad Brooks (Jackson “Jax” Briggs) , Max Huang (Kung Lao ), Sisi Stringer (Mileena), Chin Han (Shang Tsung), Hiroyuki Sanada (Scorpion) and Tadanobu Asano (Raiden) .
For the time being, kark Urban ( Johnny Cage ), Tati Gabrielle ( Jade ) and Adeline Rudolph ( Kitana ) have been confirmed in the sequel .
