AMD Ryzen 6000 Arrives in Laptops with the Promise of a Historic Leap in Integrated Graphics

Integrated graphics outperform discrete input graphics, according to tests shared by AMD .

AMD is further consolidating its offering in mobile processors with the Ryzen 6000 , which was officially launched this Thursday.

This family, based on the Zen 3+ architecture , promises an improvement in the energy efficiency of laptops, in addition to providing a great leap in terms of “integrated graphics”.

This last point is based on the inclusion of RDNA 2 for the first time as part of the laptop SoC.

Ryzen 6000: the main changes

AMD uses Zen 3+ cores , with which it achieves better performance and energy efficiency. In this last section, AMD has promised up to 24 hours of battery life.

USB4 has also been implemented , which will allow transfers of up to 40Gbs, along with other key changes such as PCIe Gen 4 compatibility , DDR5, WiFi 6E , among other improvements.

The Ryzen 6000 Processor Family

These processors come in various models and lines, focused on different types of uses. Users looking for the best energy performance can opt for the Ryzen 5 6600U or Ryzen 7 6800U , with less than 28W consumption.

The HS series is intended for powerful but slim computers, with a consumption of 35W, while the H and HX are focused on laptops looking for the best possible performance.

Ryzen 6000 promises a huge leap in integrated graphics

RDNA 2 reaches the Ryzen 6000 and the results look promising. According to tests shared by AMD , the integrated graphics of the Ryzen 5 6600U put up a fight with entry level discrete graphics like the GeForce MX 450 .

The fight turns entirely in favor of integrated graphics when we compare the Ryzen 7 6800U to the GeForce MX 450 .

Ryzen 6000s with integrated graphics could be a great alternative for gamers, especially for non-demanding games, amid a component shortage.

Powerful laptops with Ryzen 6000

High-performance models (with discrete graphics from both AMD and NVIDIA ) are expected, such as the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, Lenovo Legion 5 Pro , Razer Blade 14 , Acer Nitro 5, Alienware M17 R5 , among others.

AMD Ryzen 6000 laptops will surely hit the market. Of course, we hope to be able to check its performance soon.
