The synopsis
American Gigolo , a modern reinterpretation of the iconic 1980 film, follows Julian Kaye (Jon Bernthal) after his wrongful conviction and his release after 15 years in prison, while dealing with complicated relationships with his ex-lover Michelle. (Gretchen Mol), with his troubled mother and the people who betrayed him. As Julian struggles to reconcile the escort he was in the past and the man he is today, Detective Sunday (Rosie O’Donnell) searches for the truth about the murder that sent Julian to prison so many years ago, uncovering a conspiracy. much bigger.

American Gigolo was originally developed by David Hollander , who left the project last April following allegations of misconduct. Executive producers are Jerry Bruckheimer , the producer of the original film, Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reed . Bernthal is one of the producers. The series will debut in the US on 9 September.
