Earlier this year Apple announced Tap to Pay , a feature that will allow contactless payments via Apple Pay between iOS devices .

In February, Apple put “later this year” as a tentative date for this feature.

Tap to Pay is already arriving little by little, as you can see in a Twitter video.

The Apple Pro account posted a video recorded at the Apple Park Visitor Center in Cupertino, California, where we see Tap to Pay being used live.

In this one, a Visitor Center employee is seen receiving an instant payment with Apple Pay .

How does it work?

Tap to Pay relies on NFC and Apple Pay on iPhones without the need for additional hardware.

It will also allow merchants to receive payments through their iPhone with NFC chip cards.
