The M2 Ultra will be available within the Mac Studio and the new Mac Pro . The chip was announced at WWDC23 .
Apple has introduced its most powerful new processor ever created: the M2 Ultra .
The chip was announced during this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, WWDC23 , and will be coming to two of the company’s high-end products
Power in the palm of your hand
Apple Silicon processors arrive with a very high computational power and will initially debut in the new Mac Studio.
For example, compared to the M1 Ultra version, the M2 Ultra is 20% more powerful in its CPU and up to 30% faster with its GPU. In the first case, it maintains 24 cores, while in the second it reaches 76.
With more than 134 billion transistors and 32 neural cores, it can reach 31.6 billion operations per second, making it perfect for, for example, playing 22 8K videos in full editing.
This is accompanied by some aid such as 192 GB of RAM, which is undoubtedly surprising.
And for your Mac Pro
The arrival of the powerful chip does not stop there, but it will also be present in the new professional Mac Pro .
Thanks to the chip, the company promises that it will be 3 times faster than Mac Pros based on Intel chips, as well as 7 times more powerful in its graphics section.
The device has 6 PCIe generation 4 memory slots, 2 HDMI ports, a double ethernet port, 8 Thunderbolt 4 ports, Wi-FI 6e, Bluetooth 5.3 and 192 GB of RAM.
