Apple reveals the new Mac Mini with its powerful M2 and M2 Pro

Apple will offer two versions of the new Mac Mini with two of its latest and most powerful processors.

Apple has announced the launch of the new Mac Mini line , now coming with the company’s own powerful M2 and M2 Pro chips .

Through a press release, those from Cupertino presented the new models that start at $599 in its standard version and $1,299 in its Pro version.

What’s in the new Mac Mini

The simple version of the Mac Mini will bring the M2 chip with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

It will have an HDMI port, Ethernet and a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as two USB-A ports and two Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports.

Both Mac Mini configurations come with support for Wi-Fi 6E, the fastest wireless networking standard. The machines also support Bluetooth 5.3.

As for the Pro version, the Mac Mini will arrive with the M2 Pro chip , 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage along with two additional Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Goodbye Intel

To date, Apple had not brought any Pro processor to the Mac Mini . For example, the previous range only had the M1 in all its levels. The M2 chip debuted in June 2022 in the 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, then expanded. to iPad Pro; this is the first time it has come to a desktop.

The new lineup also means that Apple has stopped offering the Intel Mac mini, leaving the Mac Pro as the only remaining device on sale with an Intel CPU inside.
