Apple’s App Store will start showing more ads

The App Store  will display ads in its ‘Today’ section and on each of the app pages.

The App Store , the only app store for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch , will start showing more ads to its users.

Currently, the ads already appear on the App Store , albeit only in the search section of the app. But, according to 9to5Mac , Apple plans to bring them to the main ‘Today’ section of the store, in addition to adding them to each app’s sections.

More announcements at Apple

The Today tab, which Apple launched in 2017 as part of iOS 11 , features a wide range of featured apps, with content that is updated daily. The new ad slot coming soon to the section will reportedly appear in the second slot on the page, again marked with the blue ad badge. The other ad slot will appear at the bottom of the app list.

The new space will allow other developers to push their own products alongside similar apps, though they won’t be able to choose which specific app their ad appears with. Instead, Apple ‘s algorithms will do the work, matching apps with ads that feature similar software.

The reasons for this decision

For Apple , the new ad placements will mean even more revenue for one of the world’s most successful companies, while giving developers big and small another chance to show their work to more people in hopes of getting more downloads.

Apple noted that these new announcements provide “opportunities for developers of all sizes to grow their business.” “Like our other ad offerings, these new ad placements are built on the same foundation: they will only contain content from the apps’ approved App Store product pages and adhere to the same rigorous privacy standards.”

There is no exact date for the arrival of these ads in the app store.
