Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom | Indya Moore, Jani Zhao and Vincent Regan Join Sequel Cast

The cast of “ Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom ” continues to grow. According to THR , Indya Moore , Jani Zhao and Vincent Regan have joined the sequel starring Jason Momoa.

There’s still no announced storyline for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” but the new additions might give some clues. Moore (from “ Queen & Slim ”) will play Karshon, originally the Green Lantern’s villain, a shark that gains intelligence and telepathic powers after being hit by radiation. Zhao (from the “ South ” series ) will be a new character named Stingray, with no description about alignment. And Regan (from the “ Poldark ” series ) will play King Atlan, former leader of Atlantis who caused the kingdom to sink.

The original 2018 film chronicles the journey of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry (Momoa) discovering his true identity and all that it takes to become a king. The film is one of DC’s top blockbusters  so far, grossing $1.14 billion at the box office worldwide.

In addition to Momoa, the film will feature the returns of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Stingray, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Amber Heard as Mera, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Stephen Shin. And in addition to the new trio, Pilou Asbæk completes the team of newcomers.

James Wan returns as director, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who co-wrote the first film, returns to write the second. Wan will also produce the film with Peter Safran.

“Aquaman 2” is scheduled to premiere on December 16, 2022.
