ARCHIVE 81: THE TRAILER OF THE HORROR SERIES PRODUCED BY JAMES WAN, FROM JANUARY 14 ON NETFLIX

we find Archive 81 – Alternative Universes . It is a series consisting of 8 episodes, inspired by the horror podcast of the same name. James Wan and Michael Clear participate as producers through their Atomic Monster ( The Conjuring film franchise and the more recent Malignant ), while Rebecca Sonnenshine ( The Boys, The Vampire Diaries ) participates as showrunner. The debut is scheduled for January 14th.

The trailer

The series revolves around archivist Dan Turner, involved in a new, mysterious job. His task will be to restore a collection of damaged videotapes dating back to 1994. During his work he ends up coming across the case of Melody Pendras, a documentary maker who disappeared under mysterious circumstances while investigating a cult.

The plot

Archive 81 – Alternative Universes follows archivist Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie), who accepts the task of restoring a collection of damaged videotapes dating back to 1994. When he finds himself reconstructing the work of documentarian Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi), he involved in his investigation of a dangerous cult based in the Visser condominium. The season continues on two parallel timelines as Dan becomes increasingly obsessed with what happened to Melody. When the two characters form a mysterious bond, Dan is convinced that he can save her from the horrible end she suffered 25 years ago.

The cast

Mamoudou Athie , seen in the Black Box episode of the Welcome to the Blumhouse anthology and coming soon in Jurassic World: Dominion , plays the protagonist. At his side Dina Shihabi , seen in the Netflix series Altered Carbon .
Rebecca Thomas was in charge of directing.
