According to a survey by Fandango, Avatar: The Water Trail is the most anticipated film by Generation Z (those between 18 and 24 years) in the United States.
1,000 people took part in the survey, who confirmed their intention to go to the cinema during the Christmas period. The data that emerged are decidedly interesting:
- 94% confirmed that they usually go to cinemas
- 78% confirmed that they went to the cinema more often this year than in the pre-pandemic period
- 91% confirmed that they go to theaters to see films that can only give their best on the big screen
- 87% stressed the importance of the cinematic experience, impossible to recreate at home
So what are the most anticipated films for the Christmas season?

- A Violent and Silent Night
- Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish
Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Water Road begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), of the danger that follows them, of where they are willing to go to keep themselves each other’s safety, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they face.
Director and cast
Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi and Kate Winslet . The release in Italian theaters is scheduled for December 14th.
