The first official teaser trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water , the sequel to Avatar arriving in our rooms on December 14th, has just been released.
The video, which accompanied the arrival of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , allowed us to take a first look at the film and its protagonists.
We went back to Pandora and met the Na’vi people again, but who is that young human we saw with the blue creatures?
Javier “Spider” Socorro
Javier “Spider” Socorro, played by Jack Champion . Spider was born in Hell’s Gate (the human base on Pandora seen in the first film), but was rescued and adopted by Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), who made him a member of their family with children. Na’vi Neteyam (Jamie Flatters), Lo’ak (Britain Dalton) and Tuktirey (Trinity Bliss).
Last December we reported some statements from producer Jon Landau :
Jake decided to take him with him but Neytiri was never able to separate him from the people who destroyed his home and killed his father. There are very complex dynamics at play. Just think about what James Cameron does in his movies. He writes about universal themes that go beyond a specific film genre. In this case we are building around Jake and Neytiri the universal theme par excellence: the family. Jake comes from the human world, Neytiri from the Na’vi world. They are like a modern mixed couple and are raising kids who perhaps don’t feel they belong to either of these two worlds.
