New entry in the cast of the prequel series of Beauty and the Beast with Luke Evans and Josh Gad as Gaston and LeFou.

The series
The series, destined for Disney + , will be set years before the events of the film. Gaston and LeFou will go on an adventure with Tilly, after a surprising revelation about the latter’s past. Together they will face a journey full of sentiment, comedy and adventure. The mysteries of the past will be revealed, the dangers of the present will grow, and old friends and new enemies will prove that this very familiar realm actually hides many secrets.
It will be a musical series consisting of eight episodes and, in addition to Evans and Gad, will be played by Briana Middleton ( The Tender Bar ) in the role of Tilly, half-sister of LeFou / Louie.
Beauty and the Beast , working title, was developed and written by Josh Gad withEdward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz , creators of Once Upon a Time . The three will also be executive producers and showrunners. Liesl Tommy , director of Aretha Franklin Respect biopic , will direct the first episode.
Additionally, Alan Menken , composer of the 1991 animated film and live action remake, will write the music, while Glenn Slater(Rapunzel) will take care of the lyrics. Tommy and Menken will executive produce, Luke Evans will produce. The series will be produced by Disney Branded Television and ABC Signature. Shooting will start in the spring of 2022.
