The Berlin Film Festival 2022 has ended, more or less. This year’s program has been condensed into six days due to Covid.
The Berlinale will continue for a few days, until February 20, with reruns of the films. The winners of the 2022 edition were announced last night and Carla Simon ‘s Alcarràs won the Golden Bear, awarded by the jury led by M. Night Shyamalan .
The film centers on the life of a family of peach farmers in a small town in Catalonia, whose world is turned upside down when, after the death of the owner of the estate, his heir decides to sell the land, putting their survival at risk.
Among the prizes we also point out the FIPRESCI awarded to Leonora Addio by Paolo Taviani . The jury of the Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique, composed of René Marx, Anna Maria Pasetti and Hsin Wang , motivated the choice as follows:
Guided by the free spirit of Pirandello’s genius, the director mixes poetry, melancholy, but also irony, fantasy and joy to tell us the mysteries of life, death and memory.
All the winners of the Berlin Film Festival will follow.
