The wait is almost over: the next episode of Better Call Saul.
the third to last ever, will see the return of Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.
A return that has been announced for some time , which will take place in an episode aptly titled “Breaking Bad”.
This is probably a double meaning: on the one hand, it is a reference to the original series that started this saga, but on the other it indicates that Jimmy McGill / Saul Goodman has finally “gone bad” as well.
The synopsis of “Breaking Bad” simply reads: “Partners take their business to new heights”. Which partners are we talking about? Walt and Jesse? Saul, Mike and Fring? Hard to say. However, we know that the episode will be set, at least in part, in the Breaking Bad era , which in the timeline of the saga is about 2008. A jump of four years from the events narrated up to the ninth episode. Already at the end of the latter, after Kim’s escape, we had witnessed a time jump, meeting a Saul Goodman with his definitive look and the studio as we saw him in Breaking Bad .
Better Call Saul then took a leap further in the tenth episode, “Nippy,” in which we found Jimmy in the guise of Gene Takavic, who fled to Omaha, Nebraska, after the events of Breaking Bad .
Next week, August 2nd, we will go back again. It will be interesting to see how Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan integrate Walt and Jesse in Better Call Saul . Probably the episode will tell the background of Saul’s first appearance in Breaking Bad , supplementing it with new details. But the series has always been unpredictable and a step ahead of everyone: we are ready to be amazed.
