BLACK CLOVER: SWORD OF THE MAGIC EMPEROR SLIDES TO JUNE 16 ON NETFLIX

The release of the animated feature Black Clover: Sword of the Magic Emperor , initially scheduled for March 31 on Netflix , has been postponed.

The official website announced today that the film will debut on the platform, and in Japanese theaters, on June 16th . The cause of the postponement is due to the spread of COVID-19 which affected the production of the film.

History

Asta, a boy born without magic in a world where magic is everything, aims to become the Magic Emperor , overcome adversity, prove his power and keep the oath sworn to friends.

The film, supervised by the mangaka Yūki Tabata , will tell the story of the Magic Emperor unpublished in the original work. The original comic is published in Italy by Star Comics .

Characters and voice actors

Among the new entries in the cast of voice actors: Miuki Sawashiro (Fujiko Mine in Lupine The Third) voices the 11th Magic Emperor Princia; Hochu Otsuka (Mont Blanc Noland in One Piece) lends the voice to the 20th Magic Emperor Edward; Fumiya Takahashi (Aruto Hiden in Kamen Rider Zero-One) voices Jester Galandros a mysterious wizard who was associated with the previous Magic Emperor.
