The death of Chadwick Boseman was a real shock, and it was not easy for his colleagues to return to the set for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever .
Director Ryan Coogler reworked the story to include the death of the protagonist in the sequel, but he and the cast wanted to pay homage to the missing friend even before filming, by visiting the place where he rests.
Speaking with Empire , which dedicated the covers of its new issue to the film, Dominique Thorne ( Riri Williams / Ironheart ) stressed the importance of that moment:
By remembering and saying the names of the people we have lost, we keep adding power to their name. And that’s exactly what we did that day, telling and hearing stories about him. I can’t imagine another way to start this journey.
Lupita Nyong’o , interpreter of Nakia , added:
It was essential to experience that moment when we physically went to pay homage, and being with her family members emotionally allowed me to return to that world in a way that I didn’t know I needed until I was there.
The release is expected on November 9 in Italian cinemas. Below you will see some new images shared by Winston Duke , aka M’Baku .
