BMW is introducing a new technology that will be implemented in its luxury cars called Theater Screen . During the CES 2022 event, the company wants to enhance in-car entertainment with a 31-inch screen and a 32: 9 aspect ratio.

It is not known when this screen will be available to consumers, but BMW suggests that it can be installed on the roof of a car, lowering to transform the rear seats into a “private movie theater.”

“We develop immersive digital experiences for sheer driving pleasure,” said Frank Weber, member of the board of directors of BMW AG Development. “In theater mode, the rear of the interior is transformed into a private cinema room. With the 31-inch screen, 5G connectivity, 8K resolution, surround sound and individual broadcast program, an unprecedented experience is created that sets new standards for in-car entertainment. “

Fire TV screen

The screen is a Fire TV device , which means that, like other devices with Fire OS , you will be able to access most of the services and content of Fire TV to transmit through the car’s own 5G connection . It is tactile and also has controls built into the rear doors of the car.

Right now, there isn’t much 8K content to display on screen, and the Fire TV doesn’t support that resolution yet, but at least the car will be ready when the time is right.
