Disney / Marvel’s Eternals grossed $ 9.5 million with previews, which began at 6 pm Thursday, at the US box office.
A better result than Doctor Strange ($ 9.4M) and Thor: The Dark World ($ 7.1M).
This is the third best result during the pandemic, behind Black Widow (Disney / Marvel) released in July which grossed $ 13.2M (premieres started at 5 pm), the film then fetched $ 80.3M in the first weekend. Also behind Venom – Carnage’s Fury (Sony) which grossed $ 11.6M (previews from 4pm) and a $ 90M weekend, but ahead of Shang-Chi ($ 8.8M) released two months ago, which grossed in weekend $ 75.3M.
According to initial estimates, the film is expected to gross on Friday around $ 30 / $ 32M, previews included. The official data will be available in the late afternoon.
Given that Friday normally represents 40% of the weekend’s takings, it is expected to bring in between $ 70- $ 75M from the 4,090 theaters in which it was released.
The film scored B on CinemaScore , no Marvel movie had scored this low, we’re below Thor (B +). Other cinecomics that had achieved this are: Green Lantern, Batman v Superman, Bloodshot, Watchmen . 75% positive on PostTrak and 3 1/2 stars from the audience, only 57% of the audience recommend the film.

Dune grossed $ 1.28M (-34%) from 4,125 rises on its second Thursday, totaling $ 76.33M. Most of the premium screens (IMAX and PLF) have gone to Eternals . This is the best result for a day & date film for Warner .
No Time To Die grossed $ 843k from 3,507 theaters, totaling $ 136.97M.
Venom – Carnage’s Fury $ 429 thousand from 3,278 theaters, the total is $ 192.54M. The film surpassed $ 400M worldwide on Wednesday: 482,000 in the US, for a total of $ 192.1M and internationally $ 212.5M, for a total of $ 404.6M. The main international markets are: Russia ($ 31.4M), Mexico ($ 22M), UK ($ 20.7M), Korea ($ 17.2M) and France ($ 10.8M). For the weekend it will beat Shang-Chi ($ 424M) and My People My Homeland ($ 429M).
The French Dispatch grossed $ 317,000 from 788 screens, totaling $ 5.87M.
Last night in Soho grossed $ 302,000 from 3,016 theaters, the total is $ 5.84M.
Ron – An unscheduled friend grossed $ 277,000 from 3,560 sale, total is $ 13.98M
Halloween Kills grossed $ 270,000 from 3,616 sale, total is $ 87.37M.
Antlers grossed $ 270k from 2,800 screens, totaling $ 5.61M.
The Addams 2 family grossed $ 146,000. The total is $ 53.50M.
