Last weekend official data arrived at the US Box Office.
Top Gun: Maverick grossed more than estimated: $ 51.9M (-42%) for a total of $ 395.2M in 17 days. He surpassed the box office of Spider-Man: Far from Home ($ 390.5M) to place 43rd on the best grossing chart ever.
10th highest grossing ever in the third weekend, topped Doctor Strange ($ 32.3M / $ 342.8M) and The Batman ($ 36.7M / $ 300M).
Tonight we will have official confirmation but yesterday the film surpassed $ 400M at the American box office, it is the first title of 2022 to reach this milestone and the first in Tom Cruise’s career.
He is estimated to have grossed + $ 7M for a total of $ 402M.
Global gross over the past weekend was $ 102.7M for a total of $ 747M. By the end of the week, Maverick will overtake Mission Impossible Fallout ($ 794M) to become Cruise’s most successful film. The film is on its way to reaching the billion dollar mark.
Recall that Doctor Strange 2, Maverick and Jurassic World the Dominion have grossed $ 2 billion at the box office in six weeks, worldwide.
