The analysis
Encanto was the only Top 10 film not affected by the release of Spider-Man. The film was down only -35.0%, grossing $ 6.48M.
Given the trend in its second weekend, -65.4%, it seems that West Side Story will not be a dormant success like The Greatest Showman , neither in America nor on international markets.
In two weeks it has grossed $ 9.1M from international territories, global revenue from 47 markets is $ 27.1M against a $ 100M budget that could rise to $ 160- $ 170M with marketing.
Nightmare Alley grossed far less than it was estimated ($ 4 / 5M), just $ 2.8M. Guillermo del Toro’s film was made on a budget of $ 60M. The public is 56% male, and 57% over the age of 35.
