In the third season of Bridgerton we will not see Daphne, the character played by Phoebe Dynevor. It was the actress herself who confirmed it during a recent interview:

Sadly I won’t be in season 3.

However, the actress confirmed that this does not exclude her possible return in the future, therefore it is not a question of a definitively closed chapter.

The first episode of Bridgerton ‘s third season will be titled “Out of the Shadows” and will be directed by new showrunner Jess Brownell , who replaces Chris Van Dusen . The cast is joined by newcomers Daniel Francis ( Stay Close ), who will play Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips ( The Crown ), who will play Lord Debling, and James Phoon ( Wreck ), who will play Harry Dankworth. HERE the description of the characters.

The plot of season 3

Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally given up on her longtime crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging comments about her last season. However, she has decided that it is time to find a husband, preferably someone who will give her enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, away from her mother and sisters. But, due to her lack of self-confidence, Penelope’s attempts to find a husband fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a sassy swagger. But he is disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who has always liked him as he was, treats him coldly. Eager to regain his friendship, this season Colin offers to mentor Penelope to help her find a husband. But when his lessons start to work out a little too well, Colin must figure out if his feelings for Penelope are really just friendship. Complicating things for Penelope is her estrangement from Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friendship in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s increasingly frequent presence in London high society makes it all the more difficult to keep the secret a secret. her alter ego of Lady Whistledown.

The Netflix series is produced by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica and Van Dusen.
