Crazy & Rich ( Crazy Rich Asians ), the romantic comedy directed by Jon M. Chu ( Now You See Me 2 ) based onKevin Kwan, has a mid-credit scene.
This is a short sequence, in which we see Astrid, played by Gemma Chan , just out of an unhappy marriage, sharing a meaningful look with her ex-boyfriend Charlie (Harry Shum Jr.) at a party.
Well, it seems that that love story just mentioned has become the starting point for a new spin-off film, centered on Astrid and Charlie.
The sequel still confirmed
Recall that in 2018 a sequel to the film was also announced, inspired by Kevin Kwan ‘s second book : China Rich Girlfriend .
According to reports, the film will tell the story of Charlie (Harry Shum Jr.) and Astrid’s (Gemma Chan), also focusing on the journey of Nick (Henry Golding) and Rachel (Constance Wu) to China in search of the woman’s father.
It was also confirmed the return of director Jon M. Chu and the entire production team: Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and John Penotti . With them also the screenwriters Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim . Recall that there is also a third book, entitled Rich People Problems .
This spin-off seems to be a separate project, with an original script not inspired by the literary saga. As always we will keep you updated on every development.
