Jennifer Connelly , who we recently saw in Top Gun: Maverick , will join Joel Edgerton in a new science fiction series from Apple TV +, Dark Matter ..
The series will consist of nine episodes and center around Jason Dessen (Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who, while strolling the streets of Chicago one night, is kidnapped and transported to an alternate version of his life.
The wonder soon turns into a nightmare as Jason attempts to return to his reality, traversing the multiverse of lives he could have lived.
In this maze of shocking realities, Jason embarks on a harrowing journey in an attempt to return to his real family and save them from the most terrifying and unbeatable enemy imaginable: himself.
Jennifer Connelly will play Daniela, Dessen’s wife. It is not the first time that the actress has worked on TV: she herself recently starred in the series Snowpiercer , which will end with the fourth season.
Dark Matter is based on a novel by Blake Crouch , who will write the series and serve as showrunner. Crouch will also executive produce alongside Edgerton, Matt Tolmach and David Manpearl for Matt Tolmach Productions. Jakob Verbruggen ( Invasion ) will direct the first three episodes.
Years ago, Sony attempted to develop a film based on Dark Matter , but was unsuccessful.
