DAVID DI DONATELLO 2023: BEST FILM THE EIGHT MOUNTAINS, ALL THE WINNERS

The 68th edition of the David di Donatello awards, the most prestigious Italian film award which last year decreed the triumph of I wanted to hide myself, has concluded .

The management of the 2023 edition was entrusted to Carlo Conti supported by Matilde Gioli . The event was held for the first time in the Cinecittà@Lumina studio complex managed by Cinecittà. Twenty-five David di Donatello Awards and Special Davids were awarded during the ceremony. The David for Lifetime Achievement 2023 went to Marina Cicogna who produced some of the most important films in the history of Italian and international cinema. Two Special Davids were awarded during this edition: to Isabella Rossellini , one of the best known and most appreciated Italian actresses in the world, and to Enrico Vanzina, one of the filmmakers most loved by the Italian public, especially in tandem with his late brother Carlo. The big day directed by Massimo Venier with Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo is the winner of the David dello Spectatore award , Lorenzo Tardella ‘s dependent variables win the David di Donatello for Best Short Film .

As for the main awards, Barbara Ronchi  won the award for Best Female Performance ( September ), while Fabrizio Gifuni was awarded Best Actor for his performance in Exterior night . Best Film The Eight Mountains by Felix Van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch .

The David di Donatello Awards are organized by the Academy of Italian Cinema Foundation – David di Donatello Awards and by Rai, in collaboration with Cinecittà SpA Piera Detassis is President and Artistic Director of the Academy, the Board of Directors is made up of Francesco Giambrone, Francesco Rutelli, Nicola Borrelli, Francesca Cima, Edoardo De Angelis, Domenico Dinoia, Valeria Golino, Giancarlo Leone, Luigi Lonigro, Mario Lorini, Francesco Ranieri Martinotti.

The 68ᵃ edition of the event takes place under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, with the contribution of the MiC Ministry of Culture – Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual, in agreement with AGIS and ANICA, with the participation, as Supporting Founding Members , of SIAE and Nuovo IMAIE.
