Stranger Things was a huge success for Netflix, and among those who have benefited most is certainly David Harbor , interpreter of Jim Hopper.

Whose career received a considerable boost in the years following the debut of the series. Still, Harbor admitted recently that he didn’t really believe Stranger Things would find such success. Speaking to the BBC, the actor said:

I remember when we were shooting the first season. We were in Atlanta, Netflix gave us a budget of about $ 20. Halfway through shooting I remember my hairdresser coming to me, about when we were shooting the fourth episode, and she said, “I don’t think the show is going to work.”

Harbor added:

When we finished filming, I thought we wouldn’t get a second season, that we’d be the first Netflix series ever to not get a second season. We thought that no one would see it, that it would be a disaster.

Deadline six years later, and Stranger Things 4 has become the platform’s most successful English-language series , waiting for a fifth and final season that, we are sure, will surpass this record.
