Lucasfilm has assembled a prestigious team for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew , a series coming soon to Disney+ .
In addition to the Daniels , fresh winners of seven Oscars for Everything Everywhere All at Once , One Take News reports that David Lowery will also be directing an episode. The news was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter .
David Lowery has never directed anything in the galaxy far, far away, but he maintains a long-standing relationship with Disney : he has indeed made The Invisible Dragon and the upcoming Peter Pan & Wendy for the House of Mickey Mouse. An eclectic and very talented director, Lowery is however much appreciated above all for his independent films, such as Without saints in heaven, A ghost story, Old Man and the Gun and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight . He will soon reunite with A24 for an “epic pop melodrama” titled Mother Mary .
Lucasfilm always keeps a tight lid on the directors involved in its shows, so the news has only now emerged, despite the fact that filming ended a few months ago . The names of the other directors will be revealed later.
Skeleton Crew
Skeleton Crew was created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford , who previously worked together on Clown, Cop Car and Spider-Man: Homecoming . Watts ‘ ideais to tell an Amblin-style coming-of-age story, but in the Star Wars universe . At the center of the series we will find a group of kids lost in the galaxy, trying to find their way home. With them will be Jude Law , that we saw last September in the first official image . Of course, the show is coming to Disney+ .
