DC STUDIOS: GUNN AND SAFRAN’S STATEMENTS HAVE ANNOYED SOME WARNER EXECUTIVES

Last week we discovered James Gunn and Peter Safran ‘s first plans for the new DC Universe .
The two presented their project to the press and took the opportunity to answer some questions regarding the previous management of the franchise.

Gunn and Safran were very sincere, somewhat brutal. The first spoke of Henry Cavill , reiterating once again that he will not return to the role of Superman and suggesting that the actor would be teased in this regard. The second spoke about the Batgirl case , stressing that the film could not be distributed , because it would have damaged both DC and the people involved.

Gunn and Safran’s statements annoyed some Warner executives

Well, it seems that this honesty has annoyed some Warner executives. As reported by the Hollywood Reporter in the Heat Vision column :

Gunn and Safran went freewheeling with their thoughts on all things DC Studios, from Henry Cavill being made fun of by ex-execs, to DC’s former regime described as screwed up, to to Batgirl, billed as “undistributable.” Some of these comments were lacking in tact (the “former regime” was made up of people who still run Warners today) and some people would have been offended by what I was told.
