Several weeks ago, it was detected that several devices were being spied on by a software called Pegasus, but now with this application, you will be able to see if your phone is infected.
Pegasus is spyware created by the NSO group; it collects data from smartphones without user consent.
Amnesty International had released tools to help the user detect if a device had been infected with Pegasus. Still, it turns out to be very complicated for the everyday user, as it requires a compilation code available on GitHub.
However, iMazing is implementing the option to detect Pegasus in its new version of its application.
iMazing
The new version iMazing 2.14 for macOS or Windows can detect Pegasus spyware on the iPhone. You have to connect your device to a computer and run the Spyware detection using the iMazing application.
The Spyware Detector feature scans a new or existing iPhone and iPad backup on the user’s Mac or PC. Mazin warns that its tool does not stop a Pegasus infection; it only detects its activity.
In early 2021, reports revealed that several governments were using Pegasus spyware, developed by the NSO Group, to monitor activists and journalists.
