DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS: A NEW COMMERCIAL REVEALS SOME TOO MANY DETAILS, WAS IT RELEASED BY MISTAKE?

Disney’s Canadian division has released a new Doctor Strange commercial in the multiverse of madness . The video was removed in a very short time and it is easy to understand why: it is a commercial that, although lasting a few seconds, contains some spoilers about the characters that we will see in the film.

Specifically, we see Professor X , played by Patrick Stewart , sitting on what looks like the levitating chair seen in the animated series Insuperabili X-Men . The video also gives us a taste of Peggy Carter / Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch) version of Captain Marvel .

This spot has all the air of having been released earlier than expected but only a few days, as evidenced by the wording “This Friday”. We remind you that the film will arrive in our cinemas on May 4th and will be accompanied by the first trailer for Avatar 2 .

UPDATE : the video has now been broadcast on official channels, but the “This Friday” sign has been replaced with “In 1 Week”.

The synopsis of Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness

After the events of Avengers: Endgame , Dr. Stephen Strange continues his search for the Time Stone. But an old friend turned enemy intends to destroy every sorcerer on Earth, ruining Strange’s plans and pushing him to unintentionally unleash an unmentionable evil.

The cast

Benedict Cumberbatch will return as Stephen Strange , the Sorcerer Supreme, and will again be accompanied by Benedict Wong ( Wong ) and Rachel McAdams ( Christine Palmer ). Chiwetel Ejiofor will return as Baron Mordo , while it has already been confirmed that Scarlet ( Elizabeth Olsen ) will be there. The cast also includes Xochitl Gomez ( America Chavez ), Adam Hugill ( Rintrah ) and Yenifer Molina ( Gargantos ).

The direction

Scott Derrickson left due to creative differences with Marvel Studios , and the direction was then entrusted to the great Sam Raimi , pioneer of the cinecomics of the 2000s with his Spider-Man .

The screenplay

The screenplay was entrusted to Michael Waldron , Loki ‘s showrunner : it seems that the cinecomic will have ties to the series, but will also be connected to WandaVision , and in fact Scarlet will appear in the film.
