Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness has been banned in Saudi Arabia due to the presence of an LGBTQ character and, as reported by theHollywood Reporter, will suffer the same fate in Kuwait and Qatar. The same fate that happened some time ago inChloé Zhao‘s Eternals .
According to reports, the decision is due to the presence of America Chavez (played by Xochitl Gomez) who, just like in the comics, is a homosexual character. Recall that in the Gulf countries any film that contains LGBTQ references is not approved by the censors.
The film is scheduled for release in our cinemas on May 4th.
