Don’t Look Up | Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio warn of asteroid in movie clip

With Meryl Streep and great cast, film opens in December on Netflix.

The Netflix released the first clip of “Do not Look Up” , the new film by Adam McKay , director of “The Big Bet”  and  “Vice” . In the video, astronomers Kate Dibiasky and Dr. Randall Mindy, played by Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio respectively, attempt to alert the President of the United States (Meryl Streep) and her son and team leader (Jonah Hill) about an asteroid on its way to Earth. Watch above.

The film’s plot follows the two inexperienced astronomers played by Lawrence and DiCaprio, who embark on a tour to warn humanity about an approaching asteroid that will destroy planet Earth.

The film’s cast also features Cate Blanchett, Timothée Chalamet, Chris Evans, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Himesh Patel, Tomer Sisley, Tyler Perry, Michael Chiklis, Rob Morgan, Himesh Patel, Ron Perlman, and Melanie Lynskey.

McKay writes, directs, and co-produces with Kevin Messick through his label  Hyperobject Industries .

“Don’t Look Up” debuts Dec. 24 on Netflix.
