Indira Varma ( Game Of Thrones, Obi-Wan Kenobi ) has joined the cast of Dune.
The Sisterhood , the HBO Max series that will serve as a spin-off / prequel to the Dune film saga .
The actress will play Empress Natalya, described as “a formidable queen who united thousands of worlds by marrying Emperor Corrino”.
The cast of the series already includes Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson in the two main roles, those of sisters Valya and Tula Harkonnen , as they fight against forces that threaten the future of humanity. The two will make their way into the organization known as the Sisterhood, which will evolve into the Bene Gesserit sect.
Diane Ademu-John ( Empire, The Haunting of Bly Manor ) created the series and will executive produce and showrunner alongside Alison Schapker ( The Flash, Westworld ). Johan Renck ( Chernobyl ) will direct the first episode and serve as executive producer. Executive producers also include Denis Villeneuve and Jon Spaihts , respectively director and screenwriter of the films, Scott Z. Burns, Matthew King, John Cameron, Cait Collins and Brian Herbert . Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert will executive produce representing the heirs ofFrank Erbert .
Dune: The Sisterhood will be produced by HBO Max and Legendary Television, the television branch of Legendary Entertainment, the studio that produces the Dune films .
