El Salvador becomes the first country to mine bitcoins with volcanic energy

El Salvador has started mining bitcoins using the energy of a volcano , according to the plan proposed by President Nayib Bukele.

After becoming the first country in the world to accept bitcoin as legal tender, President Nayib Bukele announced his long-term plans for cryptocurrency mining .

There are many forms of bitcoin mining, but lately it is opting to use friendly energy environment . For example, El Salvador wants to take advantage of its large network of volcanoes to start mining bitcoins.

Bukele recently posted a video on his Twitter account showing how bitcoin mining equipment was arriving at a government energy facility.

Later, Bukele confirmed that volcano- powered bitcoin mining had started with 0.00599179 BTC (US $ 287).

“We are still testing and installing, but this is officially the volcano’s first Bitcoin mining,” he announced on Twitter.

To mine bitcoin, high-powered computers are used to create platforms that verify virtual currency transactions. These rigs are quite energy-intensive and have raised environmental concerns, especially in places like China that use high-carbon energy sources to generate electricity
