Electronic Arts joins the tech companies that are conducting a corporate boycott against Russia and Belarus . The video game developer has announced that it is stopping sales of its games , content and virtual currencies in countries related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine .

The publisher of ‘FIFA’ has also removed the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from its popular video game FIFA 22 .

“Our games and content will no longer be available for purchase in our Russian region store on Origin or in the EA app, including through in-game stores ,” the company said in a statement on Friday.

Boycott against Russia

In this way, Electronic Arts is joining companies, mostly American, to break commercial ties with Russia . Companies like Apple , Microsoft , Meta , Nike, Dell and more are applying and following the sanctions imposed by the US and the EU on Russia after the invasion of Ukraine.

EA is also talking to its platform partners to halt and remove titles from its stores in Russia and Belarus, as well as halt the sale of new content in the region.
