Not content with Twitter , Elon Musk is already thinking that his next project will be an AI platform to rival ChatGPT .
Elon Musk has always been an eccentric character and, obviously, he was not going to be oblivious to the latest technological trend. The tycoon behind Tesla Motors , SpaceX and Twitter would be thinking of developing an artificial intelligence laboratory capable of facing OpenAI and its ChatGPT platform , the language model that he is currently giving the time.
According to what a report by The Information indicates, the businessman would already be on his way to consolidating a new startup capable of rivaling the firm behind the popular chatbot, which he founded, but with which he is no longer related. This new artificial intelligence laboratory would have Igor Babuschkin , an important exponent of this industry, who was part of Google ‘s DeepMind project .

Babuschkin said he would love to work with Musk in the growing industry of large-scale language models, the technology that was used to create chatbots like ChatGPT . However, he also assured that said project is still in a very early stage of development and there is no specific development plan for it yet. In fact, the engineer mentioned that he hasn’t officially joined the tycoon yet.
For now, Elon Musk has preferred not to make any public statement about this possibility, but it would not be unreasonable for him to start talking about it on his official Twitter account as he often does. In addition, since his position with the startup of Sam Altman , which enjoys investment from Microsoft , has become much more critical, the creation of this AI laboratory will probably come to fruition.

Although Musk has praised the capabilities of ChatGPT on multiple occasions, his cynicism and negative comments against the chatbot have increased in recent days. The tycoon said that this tool is “so good it’s scary”, also criticizing that he is not able to comment on sensitive issues. “The danger of training an AI to be woken—to lie, in other words—is deadly ,” he said.
Wokeism is one of the things that the businessman hates the most and he has not hesitated to attack this movement on several occasions. Obviously, the OpenAI chatbot is not designed to be able to answer these types of controversial queries. While Igor Babuschkin said the billionaire has no intention of creating a rival to ChatGPT with less stringent security guidelines, he can’t be safe with the eccentric tycoon.
