Elon Musk delays the date… again
In 2016, Elon Musk projected that the first manned trip to Mars would leave in 2024 and arrive in 2025 “if everything goes as planned.”
Already in 2020, Musk revised the date of the expected trip. In an interview with Mathias Döpfner, he said he was “highly confident” that a manned SpaceX mission would reach Mars in 2026 aboard SpaceX ‘s Starship rocket .
In the interview, he even gave the possibility that the date will be brought forward. “If we’re lucky, maybe four years.”
