ESA and NASA underlined their cooperation on Wednesday, amid tensions with Russia, and signed two agreements to cooperate on global climate change mitigation and lunar exploration.

The European Space Agency ( ESA ) and NASA announced on Wednesday the strengthening of their cooperation in lunar exploration, and the possibility of sending a European astronaut to the satellite.
“We can’t wait to see an ESA astronaut join us on the surface of the Moon , and continue to strengthen our long-standing strategic alliance,” said the US agency’s administrator, Bill Nelson, after an ESA board meeting in Holland which he attended as guest of honour.
