ESA and NASA strengthen cooperation on lunar exploration and climate change

ESA and NASA  underlined their cooperation on Wednesday, amid tensions with Russia, and signed two agreements to cooperate on global climate change mitigation and lunar exploration.

The European Space Agency ( ESA ) and NASA announced on Wednesday the strengthening of their cooperation in lunar exploration, and the possibility of sending a European astronaut to the satellite.

“We can’t wait to see an ESA astronaut join us on the surface of the Moon , and continue to strengthen our long-standing strategic alliance,” said the US agency’s administrator, Bill Nelson, after an ESA board meeting in Holland which he attended as guest of honour.
