Apparently Euphoria fans will have to wait quite a while before seeing the third season of their favorite series.
Between the writers’ strike, the commitments of series creator Sam Levinson with his latest effort, The Idol , and the professional commitments of the protagonist Zendaya , the series will not be able to return before 2025.
As declared by Francesca Orsi , head of HBO :
Euphoria is one of those series that we started writing the script for during the post-production of The Idol, but right now there are no scripts. We can’t start filming, so we’ll decide the distribution – which ideally will be in 2025 – when we can resume work with Sam, who has now put down his pen and is concluding post-production on The Idol.
Not just Euphoria
Obviously this thing does not concern only Euphoria , among the titles that could slip to 2025 we also find The Last Of Us (season 2) and The White Lotus (season 3).
I hope that an agreement can be reached as soon as possible. Otherwise it will be necessary to rethink the 2024 programming, to understand which titles will have to be postponed to 2025. If the strike lasts six to nine months, the scheduled shows may not be ready. For us it is a big question, but we will address the issue when the time comes.
Euphoria stars Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid and Austin Abrams .
