The film, initially intended for HBO Max, will arrive in US theaters on April 21, 2023, and will move the action from the houses lost in the woods to the city:
In the fifth installment of the Evil Dead saga , a weary Beth pays a belated visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three children alone in a small Los Angeles apartment. This sibling reunion is interrupted by the discovery of a mysterious book deep inside Ellie’s building, which unleashes a host of demons and forces Beth into a primal battle for survival as she faces a nightmarish version of motherhood beyond beyond all imagination.
The leads are played by Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan , seen in Vikings and Picnic at Hanging Rock , respectively . Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher and Mia Challis also star in the cast . To direct Lee Cronin , director of Hole – The abyss and two episodes of the series 50 States of Fright , produced by Sam Raimi for the defunct Quibi platform. Raimi is producing alongside Robert Tapert and Bruce Campbell, who will not be returning as an actor this time around.
