Comic-Con in San Diego has been quite a spate of news on Fantastic 4.
the Marvel Studios film starring the famous quartet: we only found out that Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will open , and will be released on November 8, 2024 .
Well, now Kevin Feige is providing a little update. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter , the producer revealed that the cinecomic will not bring back the origins of the Fantastic 4 , as was the case with Spider-Man at the time of his debut in the MCU .
Many people know that origin story. Many people know the basics. How do we take this look and do something they haven’t seen yet? We have set ourselves a very high standard for bringing them to the screen.
It therefore seems that the origins of Reed Richards , Susan Storm , Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm will be taken for granted in the new film, or that in any case we will find the characters already “formed”, with their powers and all the rest. Also for this reason, it is possible that they will be introduced earlier, in other films of the MCU . On the other hand, in the past few months we have seen Reed in Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness , even if it was a variant.
However, we don’t know if John Krasinski will be called back to play Mr. Fantastic , as the variants don’t always look the same. The actor himself, interviewed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon , hasn’t revealed anything about it, because Marvel “doesn’t say anything”.
And the director?
Marvel Studios had entrusted Fantastic 4 to direct Jon Watts , but he abandoned the film three months ago. We can imagine that the search for another filmmaker is underway, but no rumors have been leaked about it.
