Doctors were the first humans to be “holoported” from Earth to space by NASA researchers , applying 3D Telemedicine .
Like something out of a science fiction movie, NASA applied an innovative and futuristic mechanism to fly flight surgeon Dr. Josef Schmid and his team to the International Space Station from a base on Earth .
NASA says the group of doctors were the first ” holoported ” humans, a pun on holography” and “teleportation.” The agency used a Microsoft Hololens Kinect camera and a personal computer running software from AEXA Aerospace .
“It’s a new form of human exploration where our human entity can travel off planet ,” Schmid said in a statement. “Our physical body is not there, but our human entity is absolutely there.”
