The film is a continuation of the two original films, presenting a new story thirty years later.
Although the premiere of “Ghostbusters: Beyond” is only scheduled for November, the film has already had its first screening during CinemaCon, this Monday (23), and the first reactions are being very positive. To have a screening months before release, Sony must be pretty confident in the feature. The prints highlight how much this sequel to the original two films is faithful to its predecessors while creating an entertaining story for the next generation.
See some highlights below.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife … Wow! Was not expecting how heartfelt it is. It has a very childlike Spielberg vibe to it. And @JasonReitman is extremely loyal to the original. #CinemaCon pic.twitter.com/APyHMzEuYd

“Ghostbusters: Beyond” ignores the events of the 2016 film and recaptures the universe created in 1984. The plot follows Callie (Carrie Coon), the single mother of her science-obsessed daughter, Phoebe (Mckenna Grace), and her resourceful son, Trevor (Finn Wolfhard). They leave everything they know behind and move to a small town in Oklahoma after inheriting a mysterious property from their father that Callie didn’t know. There, they will discover the connection that exists between them and the original Ghostbusters and the secret surrounding the children’s grandfather.
The film also features Paul Rudd, Celeste O’Connor, and Logan Kim in the cast. From the original gang, return Bill Murray (Peter Venkman), Dan Aykroyd (Ray Stantz), Ernie Hudson (Winston Zeddemore), Annie Potts (Janine Melnitz), and Sigourney Weaver (Dana Barrett) for guest appearances.
Jason Reitman (“Tully“) – son of Ivan Reitman, director of the originals – co-writes the script with Gil Kenan (“Poltergeist“), as well as directing.
“Ghostbusters: Mais Além” is scheduled to premiere on November 11th in theaters.
