The series set in the MonsterVerse does not yet have a title, but filming is underway in Vancouver and the first photos arrive from the set.
As we know, the plot will take place after the first Godzilla and will revolve around a family who discovers they are linked to the Monarch , a secret organization that studies giant monsters.
The set reconstructs a military camp in Oakland, California: it could be a shelter for refugees, following the battle that destroyed San Francisco. Canadagraphs described two scenes with the character of Anna Sawai . In the premiere of her, the actress brings Tamlyn Tomita ‘s character something to drink and eat , sitting down with her; in the second, she runs to hug an unspecified character as if she hasn’t seen him for a long time (or she had feared for her safety), then they walk for a while and end up having an argument. At that point, the man walks away.
According to character descriptions , Anna Sawai plays Cate , a former teacher who survived G-Day who goes to Japan to sort out some personal affairs, but discovers a family secret.
Directing the first two episodes is Matt Shakman ( WandaVision ), also executive producer. As we know, the MonsterVerse was inaugurated in 2014 with Godzilla , and then continued in Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). The success of the latter, with $ 467.8 million grossed worldwide despite the pandemic and simultaneous distribution on HBO Max , prompted the studio to start the series with Apple TV + .

Cast and characters
– Anna Sawai ( Pachinko ) plays Cate , a former G-Day survivor teacher who goes to Japan to sort out some personal affairs, but discovers a family secret.
– Kiersey Clemons ( The Flash ) will play May , an American expat who protects herself and others under rogue armor.
– Joe Tippett ( Murder in Easttown ) as Tim , a clerk who dreams of secret agent adventures.
– Elisa Lasowski ( Versailles ) will lend her face to Duvall , an experienced agent with an unshakeable confidence in herself and her abilities.
– Newcomer Ren Watabe will play Kentaro , an intelligent, creative and curious young man who has yet to find his own way and embark on an adventure to find out more about his revered and mysterious father.
The authors
Executive producers are Chris Black ( Star Trek Enterprise, Outcast ) and acclaimed cartoonist Matt Fraction , best known for his Hawkeye cycle . The two are co-creators of the show, while Black will act as showrunner .

The MonsterVerse , however, will also continue on the big screen: Adam Wingard will direct another film after Godzilla vs. Kong , possibly centered on the son of Godzilla . We will keep you posted.
