Google is adding live translated captions to Meet

After testing the feature, Google Meet is starting to roll out live translated captions widely.

Google Meet is starting to test a new feature that could improve meetings for teams collaborating globally. Since September, the platform was testing the new feature in  beta version .

Now, the tech giant is reporting that live subtitle translation is ready to roll out to more users, according to a Google Workspace Updates blog post .

“We are now making live translated captions generally available for select editions of Google Workspace. Translated captions are available in Google Meet on mobile and web.”

More accessibility in Google Meet

Translated live captions make video calls in Google Meet more inclusive and collaborative by removing the language barrier.

For now, participants in a virtual meeting on Google Meet will be able to translate live captions from English to French , German , Portuguese , and Spanish .
