Google Search Should Get Update with Material You for Collections Soon

After bringing a new voice game from Turma do Chaves to its Assistant, Google is now preparing more news for its Search application on Android, which will receive greater integration with the collections, bringing a new design inspired by Material You Android 12.

9to5 Google saw the new version with the design of the updated collection, but it’s not available to everyone yet. Below you can check the new look of Google collections, which are now arranged in cards and categories for easy access.

When opening collections, the first category is the Quick Access category, which shows recently saved items, followed by the Shows and Movies category. Going down a little further, we find the rest of the collections with the Shopping section and a bit further down all the groups created in card view.

Among the Material, You elements we see with this update are more notable titles, cards with more rounded corners. Still, unfortunately, there’s no support for the colour engine used to create themes on Android 12.

Google is expected to bring more Material You elements to its apps soon with the release of the stable version of Android 12, due in October.
