It had been in the air for some time (even before its debut), and in fact it went as many expected: The CW canceled Gotham Knights after just one season.
The first is still ongoing, and will end on June 27th on the American channel.
No wonder the series was short-lived. The CW had approved its production when the times for its superhero shows were drawing to a close, in a transitional phase that is changing the nature of the network: after the sale of the majority shares to Nexstar Media Group, the broadcaster in fact decided to focus more on non-fiction programs. It must also be said that the idea behind Gotham Knights has never convinced the fans, tired of seeing yet another product that exploits the world and mythology of Batman without including the Bat Man.
On the other hand, The CW renewed Superman & Lois for a fourth season, but this too was to be expected: it is a series much appreciated by fans and critics, so much so that even James Gunn had hinted at its continuation.
I remind you that Gotham Knights is a completely standalone show, and has nothing to do with either Batwoman (already cancelled) or the Arrowverse (now defunct after the conclusion of The Flash ).
