Hawkeye has tried to faithfully reproduce the Christmas atmosphere of New York, including a detail that in the last episode seems purely coincidental, but is not.
During the final battle at Rockefeller Center, Clint ( Jeremy Renner ) gets entangled in the famous Christmas tree that dominates the skating rink, and meets a cute little owl living among its branches. Later, we see him taking away a miniaturized Tracksuit Mafia truck by a Pym arrow , with two unfortunate criminals inside. Well, the presence of the owl is inspired by a fact that really happened … miniaturized truck excluded, of course.
In 2020, when a spruce was cut in Upstate New York for transport to Rockefeller Center, there was a small owl among its branches, a female. It was found when the tree was already in the Big Apple: it hadn’t eaten or drunk for days, but after a brief rehabilitation at the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center – which fed and monitored it for a few days – it was possible to return it to nature. She was christened Rocky .
Hawkeye’s production paid tribute to her with the utmost accuracy, as you can see from the photos of Rocky posted online . A Twitter user remarked how her father, a veterinarian, was pleasantly impressed by this fidelity: “They put the right species!” commented the man. It is an Acadian owl, the smallest of its species in the northeastern United States.
Below you can see the video of the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center about the liberation of Rocky .

Rewatched the #Hawkeye finale with my veterinarian dad, and all he could talk about was how great the owl was.
He was especially hyped that “they got the species right!!” (It’s a saw-whet owl, same as the actual owl who stowed away in the Rockefeller tree last year.) pic.twitter.com/j3sADCtFYC
