The AT&T subsidiary WarnerMedia platform announced that it gained 3 million subscribers in the last quarter and 13 million in a whole year, totaling 77 million.
HBO Max does not plan to charge users who share accounts
The Netflix report has coincided with the search for new ways to monetize the streaming platform . One of them is charging users extra to share their passwords with people in another household.
AT&T CEO John Stankey hinted that the platform doesn’t plan to charge extra for password sharing, as it was something they considered when creating HBO Max .
“We make sure we give customers enough flexibility (to share passwords), but we don’t want to see rampant abuse,” he said on a call with investors.
